<p>Ein weiteres interessantes und ganz anderes Stück Musik brachte jüngst Jazz-Gitarrist <strong>Axel Fischbacher</strong> auf Vinyl heraus. Ganz anders als beim Vorgängeralbum, das er mit einem Philharmonie-Orchester aufnahm, wurde <em><strong>‚Bebop Scatches‘</strong> </em>ohne festgelegte Arrangements und Absprachen an zwei Tagen aufgenommen. Wolfgang Kehle hat sich mit Axel über das Album unterhalten und ein komplettes Solo transkribiert (S. 48).</p>

<p>Die Finnin <strong>Erja Lyytinen</strong>, als Kind in den 1980ern mit klassischer Geigenausbildung ins musikalische Leben gestartet, gehört ohne Zweifel zu den aufregendsten Slide-Gitarristinnen Europas. Ihre flinken Finger huschen scheinbar wie selbstverständlich übers Griffbrett, ihr Ton ist geschmackvoll, ihr bluesrockiges Songwriting abwechslungsreich. Zudem verfügt die 45-Jährige über eine starke Gesangsstimme und eine auffallend freundliche Ausstrahlung, die in Konzerten regelmäßig zum „Eisbrecher“ wird. Wir haben Lyytinen bei einem Konzert im Bremer Club KITO getroffen und uns mit ihr über die Transformation von einer Violinistin zur Gitarristin, aber auch über ihr aktuelles Equipment und ihre – Achtung, kein Scherz! – neueste Tee-Kreation unterhalten.</p>

<p>Wenn eine Band wie <strong>The Intersphere</strong>, die sich neben ihrem erstklassigen, Prog-beeinflussten Alternative Rock auf internationalem Niveau, vor allem durch ihren musikalisch-handwerklichen Perfektionismus auszeichnet, in eines der besten Studios des Landes geht, wird nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Nach ihrem gefeierten Album <em><strong>‚The Grand Delusion‘</strong></em> von 2018 gehen die vier studierten Musiker sogar noch einen Schritt weiter und holen für ihre kommenden vier Singles das letzte aus der Produktion heraus: Das beste analoge Vintage-Equipment trifft auf Ausnahme-Musiker und den detailversessenen Engineer Moritz Enders. Es ist faszinierend, dieser Gruppe bei der Arbeit zuzuschauen, deren oberstes Ziel hochwertige, wenn auch oft ungewöhnliche Gitarrensounds sind. <p>Eine Album-Produktion als persönlicher Jakobsweg? Auf dem Weg zu sich selbst kann das Aufnehmen eigener Musik tatsächlich als Wegweiser dienen. <strong>Ana Patan</strong> hat auf dem zehn Jahre dauernden Weg zur Veröffentlichung ihres Albums<em><strong> ‚Spice, Gold And Tales Untold‘</strong></em> einiges hinter sich gelassen, bis sie einem Release endlich zustimmte. Das für sie Wichtige fand sie eher auf dem Weg dorthin, wie sie uns im Interview verriet.</p>

<p>Cooler und zugleich hitziger geht’s wohl kaum: <strong>The Picturebooks</strong> gehören zu Deutschlands ungewöhnlichsten Rockbands. Ihre atmosphärisch dichte Mischung aus Stoner und Heavy Rock mit starken Blues-Anleihen klingt phasenweise wie der staubigen Wüste Nevadas entsprungen, inkl. eines wunderbar erdigen und knochentrockenen Sounds. Dieses normalerweise weltweit und exzessiv tourende Duo zeichnet sich durch eine enge und ungemein kreative Freundschaft aus, die die schwierigen Lockdowns bravourös überstanden hat und mit <em><strong>‚The Major Minor Collective‘</strong></em> ein fabelhaftes, von <strong>Claus Grabke</strong> produziertes Studioalbum vorlegt. Wir haben uns mit <strong>Fynn Grabke</strong> zu einem langen und interessanten Gespräch verabredet und bei dieser Gelegenheit den Picturebooks auch hinsichtlich ihres aktuellen Equipments ein wenig über die Schultern geschaut.</p>

<p>Reminiszenzen sind im Gitarrengeschäft gang und gäbe – und dafür gibt es angesichts der sich zeitweise rasant wandelnden Modellpolitik selbst für Highlights aus einer bestehenden Erfolgsreihe gute Gründe. Die <strong>Ibanez RGT1220PB-ABS</strong> erinnert mit ihren großen Block-Inlays nicht ganz zufällig an die legendären Modelle <strong>MA3HH</strong> und <strong>MA3HSH</strong> aus der <strong>Ibanez-American-Master-Serie</strong> von 1990, damals komplett in den USA handgefertigt. Das aktuelle Modell ist allerdings Teil einer Mini-Serie aus der <strong>Ibanez-Premium-Reihe</strong>, Made in Indonesia.</p>

Nun legt <strong>Henning Vahlbruch</strong> mit einem auf 100 Stück limitierten, roten Kaluna nach. Frei nach Yngwie Malmsteens Theorie <em>„Mehr ist mehr!“</em> hat Vahlbruch den Verzerrungsgrad im <strong>2021 Limited Kaluna</strong> um etwa ein Drittel erhöht und reagiert mit dem roten Teufel auch auf die von seinen Kunden vorgetragene Bitte nach noch mehr Kompression.</p>
