<div class="modBody"><div class="swslang"><p>Die <a href="https://www.alleinerziehende.org/">Österreichische Plattform für Alleinerziehende</a> (ÖPA) hat den Auf- und Ausbau hochwertiger, flächendeckender und leistbarer Kinderbetreuung gefordert. Der Fokus dafür solle auf Betreuungszeiten auch außerhalb der Kindergarten- oder Unterrichtszeit liegen, hieß es am Freitag in einer Aussendung anlässlich des internationalen Tags der Kinderrechte (20. November). "Kinder brauchen immer eine gute Betreuung, besonders aber, wenn sie krank sind, ihre Eltern außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten von Kinderbetreuungsstellen arbeiten müssen, oder selber erkranken", betonte die Alleinerziehenden-Vertretung.</p>

<p>Die ÖPA erinnerte an die UN-Kinderrechtskonvention, die den Vertragsstaaten den Ausbau von Diensten zur Unterstützung der Eltern auferlege. Gerade Alleinerziehende können Belastungen nicht alleine tragen, betonte Vorstandsvorsitzende Evelyn Martin: "Es darf einfach nicht passieren, dass kranke Kinder allein zu Hause bleiben. Oder dass schon sehr junge Kinder ihre Versorgung vor und nach der Schule selber übernehmen müssen." Es sei höchste Zeit, die vorhandenen Betreuungs-Angebote in Österreich zu erweitern und Eltern niederschwellig zur Verfügung zu stellen. Das sichere den Zugang zu Erwerbsarbeit und schütze vor drohender, auch die Kinder betreffende Armut.</p>

<p>Vorbildhafte Modelle sieht die ÖPA in Wien und in Nordrhein-Westfalen: Mit dem Angebot "Kinderbetreuung Daheim" vom Fond Soziales Wien geht die Bundeshauptstadt mit einem kostengünstigen, niederschwelligen und gleichzeitig hochwertigen Standard in Sachen Kinderbetreuung von erkrankten Kindern voraus. Ein solches Angebot sollte in ganz Österreich möglich gemacht werden, forderte die Interessenvertretung. Im deutschen Bundesland biete der Alleinerziehenden-Verband "Sonne Mond und Sterne" eine ergänzende Kinderbetreuung zu "ungewöhnlichen Zeiten" an - etwa an Wochenenden und Feiertagen und sogar über die Nacht.</p>

<h3><strong>162.000 Alleinerziehende in Österreich</strong></h3>

<p>Der Bedarf nach solchen Formen der Unterstützung ist groß, wie die ÖPA mit folgenden Zahlen belegen: 2020 gab es in Österreich 162.000 Alleinerziehende, davon waren 88 Prozent Mütter und 1e Prozent Väter. Sie hatten die Sorgepflicht für etwa 238.000 Kinder unter 25 Jahren. 45 Prozent der Alleinerziehenden sind von Armut und/oder Ausgrenzung betroffen.</p>

|
<p>Die Plattform für Alleinerziehende wurde im kirchlichen Kontext gegründet und wird heute noch von der <a href="https://www.kaoe.at/">Katholischen Aktion</a>, der <a href="https://www.kfb.at/">Katholischen Frauenbewegung</a> und der <a href="https://www.frauen-evang.at/">Evangelischen Frauenarbeit</a> getragen. Seit mehr als 30 Jahren verfolgt sie das Ziel, dass alleinerziehende Eltern und ihre Kinder allen anderen Familien rechtlich und sozial gleichgestellt werden.</p>
